To The Gawart Family: My girls Annette and Kelly went to school with some of you family members and I got to know your mother in particular when we were involved the school activities at that time. Rose Gawart was one of the most beautiful women I have ever met. Always looked nicely put together and always had a smile and many times a hug, which I so appreciated. One of the things that I must share with you is my total respect for a brave woman who kept going every minute she could. All of those years she worked at Penny's and stood on those terribly arthritic feet and legs I grew to have more and more respect for Rose. She was a mentor for so many of we, the women who were blessed to have God put us in her path. I know you all have some funny, and loving memories and I know that Rose is in heaven with no more pain. One of my earliest memories of Rose was when her and Carl picked up my brothers and I in a big white convertible. We went to Bailey Park to watch either Cindy or Cec play softball. We lived just down the road from them, and I remember being babysat by Cindy and Cec. In my teen years Rose would pay me to mow the feilds behind the barn, and help with the leaves in the fall. She was sweet and generous. She would always pay me more than I asked for, saying you're selling yourself short, I know how hard that is.

I was fortunate to bump into her several times during my adult years. She would always share a smile and say hi, I know you're one of the Fry boys but not sure which one. She would then compliment me on how wonderful my family looked, and ask how my parents were doing.

Rose was a wonderful woman. I am fortunate to have had her as a small part of my life.

Sorry to read about your Mom's passing. Such a great nice lady. Your Dad & Mom were great friends of Ed & Dot Robinson. Ed is my brother. Would see Rose and Dot out many times eating. I just have such wonderful memories of her. May God help you through this difficult time. Sincere thoughts, prayers and sympathy to all of you.

Story shared: An Amazing Neighbor

What a joy over the years having Rose and Carl as neighbor's on Wattles Rd. After Carl passed away Rose stayed and maintained the Big House. She would cut her grass with her John Deere tractor cutting grass,rocks and small tree branches along the way..After the big house was sold she would still drive by once a week and checking to see that her former family home was still being cared for. We remained friends with this amazing lady and will miss her infectious smile. Henry & Lori Kwant
