Obituary for Erma Jane Akers
Erma Jane Akers, 86, of Battle Creek, Michigan, passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at Heartland Health Care Center. She was born on April 3, 1932, the daughter of the late William Wank and Alta (Kline) Wank.
She graduated from Athens High School in 1950. On dec. 19, 1950 she married Richard Akers. She worked for many years at the family business, Akers Wood Products. She could use a nail gun and run a saw like a champion. She loved to crochet, and play Bingo.
Erma is survived by her daughter, Janet Marie (Donald) Cole of Battle Creek, MI; son, Thomas (Elizabeth) Akers; daughter-in-law, Lidia Akers; grandchildren, John, Juanita, Joseph, and Jennifer Akers; great grandchildren, Whitney, Mercedes, Mariah, John, Keegan, Faith, and Malory; brothers, Willard, and Melvin Wank. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard Akers; son, Jerry Akers; granddaughter, Amy Cole; brothers, John, Carl, Raymond, Warren, Richard, James, and Arthur Wank and sisters, Mary Mitchell and Gladys Mahnke.
