Obituary for Alice Barnes Clemmer

Alice B. Clemmer, age 90 departed this life on Friday 15, 2019 at Glen Arbor Hospice Residence in Battle Creek, MI. Alice was born on December 18, 1928 in Dunn, North Carolina to Samuel and Margret Barnes. She was also a twin. Alice accepted the Lord at an early age. Alice love cooking and sewing. She attended Dunn public schools; she graduated from Honet High School in 1947. She also attended Bennett College in 1948 to 1949. She married George S. Clemmer Jr. In 1952 to this reunion two sons and one daughter. Alice later moved to New York City in 1953 were she worked as a machine operator for MI Lady Inc until retirement in 1994. Alice joined African Methodist Episcopal Church 975 S. Nicholas 159th ST. in New York City under the leadership of the late Rev. Jackson in 1954. Alice was a faithful member and server of the Lord, she serve as a Senior Usher and president of the Jr. Usher Board.
In 2005, Alice moved to Battle Creek, MI with her son and daughter-in-law. Alice love church, she begin going to Truth-In-Action Fellowship Church under leadership of Bishop R. Bailey. In 2014, Mother Alice joins New Harvest Christian Center under the leadership of Pastor Iran and Tina Lee, her favor scriptures PSALM 23, PSALM 27, and MATTHEW 6; 9-13.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents Samuel and Margret Barnes, her husband George S. Clemmer Jr, son William E. Clemmer, baby girl (still born) Lady Clemmer, (twin sister) Agnes Fendel, Margret (Bobbie) Monk, (brother-in-law) Charles Monk, (sister-in-law) Dorothy Lue Barnes and special friend Ruby Taylor.
She leaves to cherish her son George (Valerie) Clemmer of Battle Creek, MI. Brother Samuel R. Barnes of Fayetteville, North Carolina. 8 grandchildren who she loved dearly and 14 great grandchildren. She love you all but she had one she called her boy Kelon! A special niece and nephew Lena (Victor) McNeal of Dunn, North Carolina. A host of nieces and nephews, friends that she loved dearly, Mother Alice love us all she always let it be known Val I Love Them All!
