Obituary for Frederick Lee Broomfield

Mr. Fredrick “Fred” Broomfield passed away unexpectedly in his home on January 9th 2019 in Battle Creek, Michigan at the age of 67.
Fred is survived by his brothers, Arnold of Kalamazoo and Andrew Williams, Charles, Micheal and Johnny Broomfield, sisters Robin and Vickie Broomfield, all of Battle Creek. His children, Akeba Embry, Fredrick “Deon” Daniel, Larry “Deonte” Shipp, Latrice Broomfield and Shanae Broomfield. Seventeen grandchildren, one great grandchild and a host of nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Ora Warfield and Johnny Broomfield, sister’s Ernestine Williams and Mary Joe Broomfield-Walker, brother Richard Broomfield and son Fred Pointdexter.
“Fred” was born on August 1st 1951 in Battle Creek, Michigan to Ora and Johnny Broomfield. He graduated from Battle Creek Central in 1971. He was best known and gained a lot of his popularity from working at the Federal Center in Battle Creek Michigan, where he continued to work until he retired. Fred was very well known throughout the community for his ever growing success as a drill team sergeant. His team won multiple sponsored national championships. His favorite pastime was bowling were he was always involved state wide bowling leagues and tournaments.
